Versus Versus Slimane

1. Versus Spring/Summer 1996
2. Saint Laurent Spring/Summer 2014
3. Versus Spring/Summer 1996
4. Saint Laurent Spring/Summer 2014
5. Versus Spring/Summer 1996
6. Saint Laurent Fall/Winter 2013

What Gianni Versace's Versus has in common with Hedi Slimane's Saint Laurent is a love for youth - a playful youth with attitude: rich, reckless and borderlining towards the tacky. Things that the young want to wear while being criticized for it.

Versus Versus Raf

1. Versus Fall/Winter 1997
2. Raf Simons Fall/Winter 2013
3. Versus Spring/Summer 2000
4. Raf Simons Spring/Summer 2008
5. Versus Spring/Summer 2001
6. Raf Simons Spring/Summer 2008

After watching #HouseOfVersace, it becomes apparent how influential the designs really were. Especially the Versus line well functions as mind platform for Miu Miu, Hedi Slimane's Saint Laurent, J.W. Anderson and, eventually, Raf Simons.

2. Emilio Pucci Spring/Summer 2013
3. Holly Fulton Spring/Summer 2013
4. Valentino Spring/Summer 2013
5. Versus Spring/Summer 2013

Each season, at least five design houses follow the call and demands of Horst. Owing to a subliminal kind of personal agenda, the plastic raincoat has regained its relevance. How crystal clear.

Laced Up IV

1. Ann Demeulemeester Fall/Winter 2011
2. Yohji Yamamoto Fall/Winter 2012
3. Helmut Lang Spring/Summer 2001
4. Versus Fall/Winter 2012

Wafting circumspectly from lace to lacing. Trying to figure out its (sexual) appeal. An attempt of explanation: closure that reveals, skin remains uncovered. It cannot be coincidence lacing is preferably being placed on women's cleavage and men's crotch.
